Inside the Episode

It was a rollicking good time on the podcast this week as we welcomed back to the show for a 2nd time, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg Head Coach, Josh King! Coach King is in his first season at the helm of Ludwigsburg after spending last season as a Head Coach in the Czech Republic and offered a ton of great insight in the areas of:

  • Building Consistent Teams: As mentioned above, Coach King is in his first season as the Ludwigsburg Head Coach where they are enjoying a great season in Germany’s BBL. With a young and talented team we hear Coach King’s thoughts on ways to build consistencyboth on and off the court as well as the challenges that go with it. Great insights here from a coach currently in mid-season with his team.
  • Attacking the Hedge: During “Start, Sub, or Sit?!” Coach King flips a question on us and leads us down a rabbit hole in exploring ways to attack a team that is hard hedging the PNR. Short Rolls, Pops, Throw Aheads, and more are touched upon.
  • “Positionless” Players: Also during “SSS”, we talk about what are the most valuable “postionless” players to have on the floor in Coach King’s eyes. We discuss the advantages of playing multiple point guards at once, 4’s that can guard 5’s, and more.
