Inside the Episode
We were excited this week to sit down this week with former Euroleague and G-League Head Coach, Martin Schiller! Coach Schiller’s teams have been some of our favorites to watch over the last couple years, and we did an entire “Deep-Dive” of his playbook HERE, and we were happy to dive into a variety of interesting areas of the game with him including:
- Substitution Patterns and Rotation Sizes: Coach Schiller shares his thoughts on the positives and negatives of both short and deep bench rotations, managing minutes, and the psychological effects substitutions have on both players and the entire team.
- The Art of the Closeout: A terrific conversation on teaching, adjusting, and thinking about closeouts. Coach Schiller sheds light on how he teaches the closeout, how a PNR Coverage ties into closeout angles, and much more.
- And during the always fun “Start, Sub, or Sit?!”: We discuss efficient practices, defending BLOB’s, and learning by doing.
