Coach Brunson discusses coaching talented youth, lessons learned from his years in the NBA, teaching helpside defense, motivation, and talk bus rides and isolation locations during the always fun “Start, Sub, or Sit?!”

We were joined on the podcast this week by former NBA veteran and Assistant, and current Head Coach of Camden High School, Rick Brunson! Coach Brunson brought his unique point of view as both a player and coach to the conversation where we discussed a variety of topics including:

  • Motivating and Coaching Talented Youth: Coach Brunson has a tremendous run of success at Camden High School and is fortunate to have 8 scholarship players on the roster this season. We discussed ways he continues to motivate and push his talented group. 
  • Lessons learned from Nine Seasons in the NBA: Coach Brunson spent almost a decade in the NBA and we dove into some of his learnings about earning roster spots, competing at the highest level, and being intrinsically motivated.
  • “Start, Sub, or Sit?!”: During the always fun segment we heard Coach Brunson’s thoughts on bus rides, isolation areas, passing and much more!
